This Privacy Policy explains how Talk2Text (the "App") and its developer collect, use, share, and protect information when you use the App.

2. Data we collect
Depending on the features you use, we may collect and process the following categories of data:
- Microphone / Audio Data: Temporary audio recordings or streams captured for real-time transcription. Audio is processed to provide speech-to-text functionality.
- Transcribed Text: Text generated from your speech (may be stored locally or—in case of optional cloud processing—transmitted to secure processing services).
- Device & App Information: Device model, OS version, app version, crash reports, and basic telemetry for diagnostics and performance improvement.
- Analytics & Usage Data: Anonymous usage metrics and events (e.g., feature usage, screen flows) collected for product improvement.
- Advertising Identifiers: Advertising ID (for AdMob / Facebook Audience Network) if you are shown personalized ads.
- Optional Account Information: If you choose to create an account or provide an email, that information will be used for account-related features.
3. How we use your data
- Provide core functionality: Convert speech to text in real-time and allow editing, saving, and sharing of transcriptions.
- Improve the app: Use anonymous analytics and crash reports to improve performance and fix bugs.
- Ads and monetization: Serve advertisements through third-party ad networks (for example AdMob, Facebook Audience Network) and provide tailored ad experiences based on non-personal or pseudonymous data.
- Support & communication: Respond to user support requests or messages sent to our contact email.
4. Audio processing & storage
Local processing: When possible, audio is processed locally on your device for faster transcription and increased privacy.
Cloud processing (optional): If the app uses cloud-based AI services to improve transcription quality, encrypted audio or extracted features may be transmitted to third-party speech processing services. We will clearly ask for consent before sending any audio off-device.
Storage: By default, transcriptions and audio are stored only on your device. If you enable cloud sync/export features, those files may be stored on third-party services—this will be shown during the feature flow and require your consent.
5. Third parties & SDKs
We use third-party services for analytics, crash reporting, ads, and optional cloud-based speech processing. These parties may process data on our behalf. Example services include:
- Google Play services & Google AdMob
- Facebook Audience Network (Meta)
- Crash & analytics providers (e.g., Firebase, Sentry)
- Cloud speech providers (if enabled)

6. Advertising & personalized ads
If ads are enabled, we may serve ads via third-party ad networks. Advertising identifiers may be used to show personalized ads. You can reset or opt out of personalized ads using device settings or Google/OS-level controls. To opt out of Ad personalization on Google, visit your device's Google settings and ad preferences.
7. Data retention
We retain data only as long as necessary to provide the features you use. Local transcripts remain on your device until you delete them. If cloud sync is enabled, retention depends on the storage provider and your account settings. Crash reports and analytics are kept in aggregated / pseudonymized form to improve the app.
8. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If a security incident affects your data, we will take steps to inform affected users and the relevant authorities when required.
9. Your choices & rights
You have the following rights, subject to local law:
- Access: Request a copy of personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request corrections to inaccurate data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your data (for example deleting cloud-stored transcripts or an account).
- Opt-out: Opt out of personalized ads or analytics (via app settings or OS-level controls).

10. GDPR (European users)
If you are in the EU, you may have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). To exercise your rights (access, portability, deletion, restriction), please contact htanik@netiyo.com. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.
11. CCPA (California residents)
California consumers have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). If you are a California resident, you may request access, deletion, or opt-out of the sale of personal information. To submit a request, contact htanik@netiyo.com and include “CCPA Request” in the subject.
12. Children
The App is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under this age. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will take steps to remove the information.
13. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new policy here with a new "Last updated" date. If changes are material, we will provide a prominent notice in the app or via email (if you have an account).
